Fatima Moreira de Melo LL.M. (born July 4, 1978, in Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland) is a former Dutch field hockey player. Over the course of her career, she earned 191 caps for the Dutch national team and scored 30 goals. She made her international debut on October 21, 1997, in a 2–1 victory against Germany. Playing as a striker, she represented Dutch clubs Tempo ’34, HGC, and HC Rotterdam in the national league.
Moreira de Melo was a key member of the national squad that won the World Championship at the 2006 Women’s Hockey World Cup and claimed victory in the 2007 Champions Trophy.
Beyond her sports career, she pursued law and earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in 2006. She has also worked as a television presenter on both local and national networks, and has a passion for music. In 2001, she performed the theme song for the International Hockey Federation’s International Year of the Youth at the closing ceremony of the Men’s World Cup Hockey Qualifier in Edinburgh.
Her father serves as a Portuguese diplomat in the Netherlands, and she is in a relationship with professional tennis player Raemon Sluiter. In December 2006, she was named Rotterdam Sportswoman of the Year and became the face of Rabobank in their Dutch television advertisements.
